MD Scientific, LLC is a North Carolina limited liability company established in 2003 for the purpose of advancing medicine through physician developed technology. In 2004, MD Scientific introduced an FDA cleared software, EndoTool®, a sophisticated software system that calculates the dose of IV insulin needed to quickly control blood glucose levels in acute, OR and critical care settings. EndoTool® Glucose Management System is one of the first software systems used therapeutically in hospital and rapidly became an important part of many hospital initiatives to improve glucose control of critically ill patients. MD Scientific sold its software business including the EndoTool® technology to Hospira Inc. in October 2008.
